Splintered Earth

April 15, 2013 § Leave a comment

The earth is bare as you

when the truth

manifests again before us,

you can’t accept what’s true,

faking youth,

an innocent guise for success.

Your eyes of emptiness,

the cold blue

of frosted ice in deep winter,

lies of your pettiness,

let hate brew

and the relationship splinter.

Fake the pain again like

you were not

to ever blame – I was one flawed.

Hatred and love alike

without thought,

Now for us a mere, past facade.

A Tri-Fall for the 15th day of April! Slightly more challenging than the last few poems. It’s syllabic and has a set rhyme scheme; definitely trying but fun!
