Stardust

April 13, 2013 § Leave a comment

Glimmer of moonlight,

Silvery stars that sparkle

on edge of your hair,

in irises of your eyes –

you’re stardust at night.

A short and sweet Tanka as my 13th NaPoWriMo poem.

I apologise profusely for the overwhelming corniness of this poem. Kind of inspired by Howl’s Moving Castle (a.k.a. one of the best movies ever made) or rather, the part at the end where Howl wakes up, looks at Sophie’s hair and says “Your hair… it looks like starlight!” Oh, what a wonderful movie that is.
